Valley City North Dakota Prepares for Flooding
Apr 13, 2009 - Valley City, North Dakota, USA - City public works employee CHRIS ELLIOTT sets up a pump to drain an area just ouside the Valley City State Softball Complex where a dike breach along the Sheyenne River nearby early Monday morning necessitated quick action. The dike breach was stacked with one-ton sandbags brought in by helicopter and was brought under control by mid-morning. Valley City esidents are on edge as floodwaters are expected to reach all-time record levels this week and a small neighborhood evacuated elsewhere in town late Sunday night following a dike breach there also
